Wildlife Observation: Wildlife are wild and should be treated as such and observed without interference.
When you observe do so without interfering -
- stay a respectable distance away
- photograph or take notes without scaring creatures
- ideal rescue and rehabilitation ends in returning the animal to the wild
The below grasshopper was found on the playground and in a classroom for observation. On the weekend I went into that classroom and saw only dry grass. This shows the grasshopper after I added fresh grass. It would have died over the weekend or at the very least suffered.
Please keep critters outside and observe them in their native environment. It is fine to put them in an aquarium briefly to make observations but not too long.

Wild animals are cute and it feels good to love them. But, are they truly happy living with humans who are their predators?
The below fox was undoubtedly saved by the family who found him. Do you think the fox would have been happy living its life with them? Do you think they did the right thing in the end?
